About

My name is Chelsea.
I’m tall.
I can do balloon animals, but not that well.
I like chocolate milk, coffee, boggle, movies in the theater, lame celebrity rag magazines, the internets, thick books, a comfy bed, the color orange, and ice cream with chunks of candy in it. I have a major problem with sorbet.

I am married to a man so perfect for me it’s ridiculous. His name is Travis.
I live in Kansas.
I grew up in Michigan and will always be a Michigander.
I dream about living in France or California or British Columbia. I realize this makes me a bit of a living cliche, but fuck it.
I have two daughters; Zoe and Junie. I also have two stepchildren; Josie and Jack.
I like to go to the movies alone. I like to put peanut m&m’s in my popcorn, too.

You can contact me at mommaloublog at gmail.com.

thank you! thank you to the ‘weird family at the bottom of the hill’! perhaps you’re too humble to write ‘COOL family at the bottom of the hill’?! been looking for a blog or two that are both mom and design friendly. YOURS! and best best wishes in the school deal! what a fucking p.i.t.a! (pain in the ass–love that one) i could totally feel your pain there in the principal’s office! i’d end up being way too nice and have that nervous-sweat going on! and ohhhh, what a great comment your mom left. just cool. i’m looking forward to keeping up with your blog! (i found you from free range kids)

    have a super weekend!

    Hi, Chelsea.
I met you at your mom’s this winter when you were in town with Zoe…early in the am.
Your mom sent me here. I have been enjoying checking this out.
I saw that you like robots. and minimalistic design. have you ever seen the work of Sarah Varon? she is a cartoonist. she has a book called “robot dreams” it is heartbreaking and sweet and there is maybe 5 written words in it. it is special. check it out, you wont be sorry.

my son goes to montessori…the public school version here in tc. i cant imagine that kind of recess restriction. they have rules about appropriate touch (bunch of hippies :-) but they encourage children to find their own path even during classroom time. i am sure you know all about maria montessori’s philosophy…that may be good material to throw out there on your next meeting..because from what i read it is not over yet!
also, i think my friends house in denver may have an orange door. it is a mid-century beauty. anywhoozie.
when you come back to tc, tell yo mama to give me a call so i can come have a glass with you and chat.
ps, my husband is funny and geeky too.

Indeed we did! Where is he from in Michigan?
Travis and I met on the internet, but I was already in KC because I dragged my sorry ass here for ANOTHER guy I met on the internet before Travis. I was a bit of an internet dating addict, it seems.

I’d like to be your best friend. I just sent my hubby the separate bedroom post. He snores and my two girls (4 and 1)are always in the bed. I love your solution. I am wearing a scarf tonight-even though my brain stopped computing at scarf design #12. But I will not give up carbs! Let me know when you are ready to move to Seattle and you can live next door. I’ll introduce you to the french bakery up the hill…

    Thanks, Robin!
I still eat SOME carbs – like I just ate a million cupcakes on my birthday the other day!
